Privacy & storage

A simple start

This site does not ask you to create an account, enter an email address or provide payment details. Quiz answers and progress are processed in your browser.

What this site saves

When saving is enabled, browser local storage holds your chosen vocabulary-help language, completed study-plan days, current session, selected answers, flagged questions, questions to revisit and your latest 50 completed sessions. This allows you to return to your progress on the same browser. It does not sync to another device.

With JavaScript available, you can disable saving here or clear progress from the My progress page. Clearing browser data also removes saved progress. If storage is blocked, practice still works for the current visit.

Saving is enabled by default when JavaScript and browser storage are available. Your current browser setting cannot be determined from this static page; it is shown when the interactive version loads.

Consent choices

We use Google Privacy & messaging, a Google-certified consent management platform, for visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland. Its privacy message lets you consent, decline or manage purposes and vendors. On practice and other site pages, the standard Google AdSense script loads the consent platform before you make a choice so it can display the message and remember your preferences. These requests may include your IP address and browser details, and necessary consent information is saved in cookies or browser storage. This privacy notice is available without loading Google consent, advertising or Analytics scripts.

Optional Google Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4, managed through Google Tag Manager, to understand visits and improve this free learning site. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load only after you explicitly allow analytics in the Google privacy message. Where that message is not applicable, our separate analytics banner asks for permission instead. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using the practice tools.

Analytics measures pages visited, traffic sources, browser and device information, approximate location, and actions such as starting or finishing a mock exam or memory game and completing a study-plan day. Google may use browser cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits. These optional Analytics cookies are configured with a 180-day expiry. We send canonical page addresses without query strings or result identifiers. We do not send your name, email, selected answers, exam scores or saved session history to Analytics.

We configure GA4 to retain user- and event-level records for 2 months. New activity does not reset the user-data retention period. Standard aggregated reports may remain longer.

Google manages the consent record where its privacy message applies. Elsewhere, the separate analytics choice is saved in this browser for up to 180 days. You can use Cookie preferences to reopen the relevant message and change your choices at any time. Turning analytics off removes Analytics cookies accessible to this site and reloads the page to stop the measurement code. Consent choices are separate from saving your study progress.

Google processes information when Analytics is enabled; its services may process data outside the UK. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. We use this measurement with your consent. Google Signals and Analytics advertising personalisation are disabled.

Advertising

The standard Google AdSense script is installed to deliver the privacy message. Auto Ads are switched off, no ad units or manual ad requests are installed, and the site does not currently serve ads. Labelled advertising areas are reserved spaces. The Google privacy message includes advertising purposes and the selected advertising partners, whose details and individual controls are available in the message. Accepting advertising permissions does not currently load ads. We will update this notice and verify the advertising consent flow before enabling advertising.

Hosting and fonts

The hosting provider processes network requests needed to deliver the site. Fonts are hosted on this site and delivered by our hosting provider; loading them does not send a separate request to Google Fonts. External links take you to sites with their own privacy notices.

Contact and choices

For privacy questions or requests about access, correction or deletion of personal data, contact iknowppchmc@gmail.com. Local learning progress can be removed using the controls on this site or by clearing browser storage. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office about data protection concerns.
